Guy Wilks and PG Andersson who is entering from Suzuki Sport Europe UK has done a test in Norway before Swedish Rally. It was said that it has not snowed enough, but just before the test big snow falls has created the usual “Swedish Rally” condition. Test has been done for two days, and both drivers have achieved more than 200km.
Both drivers has started off with the set up which team has made by their engineering meeting. Gaining the speed step by step, they have also try to feel and learn the new FIA control tyre from BFGoodrich. Discussing with engineers, drivers try out several settings trying to find what suits to them. Two Swift Super 1600 had no trouble and showed excellent performance even for the first time on snow stage.
Of course, setting is done to gain speed, but more important is the drivability. Two drivers have come up with two settings which were very quick setting, and drivable setting. Discussions were made and came to a conclusion that considering the long distance and adapting to variable road surface, they have chosen the drivable setting.
Rally center will be held at Karlstad, which is 300km west of Stockholm. Service park will be at Hagfors 100km north of Karlstad. Temperature is about minus 5 to 10 degrees. Sun is up only for s short period of time.
Team will now set up the car to the best setting from the test and have it ready by the scrutineering. Drivers will have a short break, and from Tuesday they will start the recce. Thursday evening there will be ceremonial start.
Watch out for the Swift Super 1600 and both drivers! |
